This installment is marked by a mix of playful romantic tension and growing misunderstandings that bring the leads closer together. While the story begins with lighthearted comedy, emotional conflicts slowly start to surface as the episode progresses.
The episode has a runtime of 1 hour and 9 minutes, offering a well-paced narrative that balances humor with heartfelt moments. The cast includes Lim Ji-yeon, Heo Nam-jun, and Jang Seung-jo, who continue to deliver compelling performances. Directed by Han Tae-seop and written by Kang Hyun-joo, the series maintains its engaging storytelling style.
Key Events in Episode 4
What Happens After Se-gye and Seo-ri Agree to Work Together?
After agreeing to work together, Se-gye gives Seo-ri water to help heal her slap wound. This moment sets the stage for their usual arguments, but it also highlights the growing attraction between them. Se-gye denies his feelings and even questions his secretary about it. Meanwhile, Seo-ri is told that Se-gye might be her fan, which explains his unusual behavior.

Do Se-gye and Seo-ri Meet Again?
Seo-ri finds the puppy she interacted with in the previous episode and decides to care for it. When she is summoned to the police station, she brings the puppy with her. Se-gye arrives to save her, and Seo-ri skillfully hands over the puppy to him. She reasons that the puppy won’t be able to live comfortably with her. Although Se-gye agrees indirectly, he is actually allergic to dogs.

What Happens in Seo-ri’s Career?
Seo-ri signs a contract with Se-gye’s company and becomes their signed artist. She gets her first project, which involves acting. To prepare, she researches many TV series and recreates iconic scenes in a hilarious manner. After this, she decides to write a letter for Se-gye to express her appreciation.

What Happens After Se-gye Receives Seo-ri’s Letter?
When Se-gye receives Seo-ri’s letter, he is visibly shaken. Though he is elated, he tries to hide his emotions. At home, he painstakingly translates the Hanja into the modern Korean alphabet. However, he mistakenly reads “my fan” as “my man,” leading to a false hope that Seo-ri is in love with him.

Did the Light-Hearted Tone Remain Till the End?
The light-hearted tone does not last until the end. The episode takes a more serious turn when Seo-ri gets into a scuffle with Se-gye and his grandfather due to her grandmother’s shop. Additionally, Seo-ri realizes that Se-gye helped her initially because he pitied her. Moon-do visits her unexpectedly and tells her that if she enters a romantic relationship with Se-gye, he will help her out. This mirrors what the king said to Seo-ri in her past life.

What Worked and What Did Not Work
Throughout the episode, the romance subplot works exceptionally well. Se-gye’s journey toward falling in love with Seo-ri feels believable, and his endearing gestures toward her are well-executed. The highlight of the episode is when Se-gye almost confesses his feelings to her. While Seo-ri may not feel the same way now, there are clear hints that she will reciprocate in the future.
