New Weapons in BF6 Season 3

Overview of New Weapons in Battlefield 6 Season 3

Battlefield 6 Season 3 introduced a set of new primary weapons that, while not entirely new to the franchise, have made a welcome return. These weapons are fan favorites from earlier games in the series, bringing back familiar mechanics and performance traits. The four weapons include the M16A4 Assault Rifle, RPK-74M Machine Gun, L115 Sniper Rifle, and the PP19 Vityaz SMG. Each of these weapons has its own unique characteristics and playstyles, making them valuable additions to any player's arsenal.

M16A4 Assault Rifle

  • Damage: 25 (16 minimum at range)
  • Fire Rate: 771 RPM
  • Muzzle Velocity: 720m/s
  • Unlocked via: Battle Pass (Tiger Shark T10)

The M16A4 is the first burst-fire rifle added to Battlefield 6. Its stats are generally average, but it shares similarities with the DRS-IAR in terms of performance and handling. The slight delay between bursts makes it less effective at close range compared to the DRS, but players can equip the A3 Receiver attachment to convert it into a fully automatic weapon.

A full-auto M16 build in BF6 can compete with most guns in the game, except for certain outliers like the VCR, TR-7, and SCW-10 in very close ranges. Its recoil is manageable with minimal attachment support and remains accurate during long bursts. However, the A3 Receiver attachment costs 25 attachment points, which significantly limits other customization options.

RPK-74M Machine Gun

  • Damage: 20 (14 minimum at range)
  • Fire Rate: 685 RPM
  • Muzzle Velocity: 1050 m/s
  • Unlocked via: Battle Pass (Warlord Hunters T10)

The RPK-74M is an assault rifle-style LMG similar to the DRS-IAR and RPKM. While it resembles the RPKM, its performance is closer to the AK-205 Carbine. Both weapons share the same damage-per-bullet value of 20, but the RPK-74M has better damage over longer ranges. It also has next-to-no recoil, making it easy to handle.

Although the RPK-74M has a slower fire rate than the AK-205, it has a significantly higher muzzle velocity, which makes hitting moving targets at long range much easier. This weapon serves as a faster-firing alternative to the KTS100 and RPKM LMGs. While it may not be the fastest-killing weapon in BF6, its low recoil, steady fire rate, and decent damage at long range make it a reliable choice for mid to long-range engagements.

L115 Sniper Rifle

  • Damage: 100
  • Fire Rate: 46 RPM
  • Muzzle Velocity: 703 m/s
  • Sweet Spot Range: 120–175m
  • Unlocked via: Battle Pass (Recruit T5)

The L115, modeled after the AWM, is a bolt-action rifle that fits well within the existing selection of sniper rifles. It can take down any player with a clean headshot or body shot if the target is within 120–175m. This is the longest sweet spot zone among all sniper rifles in BF6 so far, though there is a major caveat.

Despite being a long-ranged rifle, the L115 has the lowest muzzle velocity of all sniper rifles in the game, which makes it harder to hit moving targets from its intended engagement distance. However, it has the second-fastest fire rate among sniper rifles, beaten only by the Mini Scout at 47 RPM. It can also be equipped with 7-round magazines.

PP19 Vityaz SMG

The PP19 Vityaz SMG is the fourth weapon in BF6 Season 3 and is closely related to the PP19 Bizon seen in previous games. As of now, it is not yet available but will be released along with the Cairo Bazaar map when Phase 2 of BF6 Season 3 begins in early June. Players can expect this SMG to offer a fast and maneuverable option for close-range combat.
